The West Goshen Township Sewerage System was constructed by the West Goshen Sewer Authority at the request of the Township Board of Supervisors.
The Sewer Authority is the owner of the System and leases it to the Township who is responsible for operations, maintenance, and repair. The Board of Supervisors also establishes and collects sewer rental fees from users of the system, and these fees are among the lowest in the County. Both the Authority and the Township have written agreements with East Goshen Township, Westtown Township, and West Whiteland Township to accept flows from these municipalities into the West Goshen system. The contracting of surplus capacity benefits the residents and business owners of West Goshen Township by distributing the fixed costs among a greater number of users, thereby lowering the costs of treatment. This also enables the Township to provide service to some residents through sewer lines which have been constructed by surrounding municipalities.
