WEST GOSHEN TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING FEBRUARY 28, 2001
A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of West Goshen Township was called to order by Chairman Robert S. White, at 4:01 p.m. on
Wednesday, February 28, 2001, at the West Goshen Township Administration Building. All members were present. Dr. White opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
Dr. White opened the floor for public comment. No public comments were made.
On motion by Mr. Meakim, seconded by Mr. Halvorsen, the Board unanimously approved the bills to be paid from the General Fund, the Sewer Fund,
the Capital Reserve Fund, and the Waste and Recycling Fund.
Ms. Nancy Rodgers, Zoning Officer, announced that the Zoning Hearing Board would hold a public hearing on Wednesday,
March 7, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. to hear ZHB 4-01. The applicant is Herman L. Woolfrey. The conforming property is located at 1220 Pottstown Pike and is owned by Bessie Rogers. The applicant is
appealing the Zoning Officer's denial of use of the property in the R-3 Residential District. The applicant desires to use the property and existing buildings for a home, antique and furniture
sales, showroom, and storage. The applicant desires to renovate and repair the existing structures, and to place the buildings into the same kind of uses previously made of the buildings. Ms.
Rodgers announced that the Zoning Hearing Board will hold a public meeting on Thursday, March 15, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. for ZHB 5-01. The applicant and legal owner, the West Chester Area School
District, is seeking a special exception and any other relief necessary to add 2,520 sq. ft. addition of two modular classrooms to the existing E.N. Pierce Middle School, located at 1314 Burke Road.
On motion by Mr. Halvorsen, seconded by Mr. Meakim, the Board unanimously approved the adoption of Resolution No. 10-01, endorsing the formation
and participation of West Goshen Township in the Regional Municipal/Law Enforcement GIS Advisory Group for the purposes of establishing an integrated GIS based information sharing system.
Ms. Evelyn Baker, resident of 900 Sheridan Drive, questioned the GIS information sharing system. Mrs. Baker requested clarification of its
use. Dr. White explained that it is a Geographical Information System which provides various geographical information about specific parcels or general areas located within the Township. Dr.
White explained the benefits of sharing this information with surrounding municipalities and law enforcement agencies.
On motion by Mr. Meakim, seconded by Mr. Halvorsen, the Board unanimously approved the adoption of Resolution No. 11-01, for Traffic Regulatory
Signs. The traffic regulatory signs include placing a 25 mph speed limit sign on Derby Drive from Ashbridge Road to cul-de-sac and placing a parking prohibited sign on Willowbrook Lane from Matlack
Street to cul-de-sac.
On motion by Mr. Halvorsen, seconded by Mr. Meakim, the Board unanimously approved the adoption of Resolution No.
12-01, accepting the Dedication of Ward Avenue and approving the Maintenance Security Agreement.
No further public comments were made.
There being no further business, on motion by Dr. White, seconded by Mr. Meakim, the meeting was adjourned at 4:15 p.m.
