Parks:
Kent Wise reported that the month of June was similar to May. The crews are busy cutting grass every day. The electrician was trenching to the new lighted sign on the corner while also fixing the remaining parking lot lights. A light sensor and two outlets have been installed in the gazebo. The lights that light the flagpole are being mounted on the pole itself to cut down on vandalism. All new plumbing has been installed at Coopersmith Park. The amphitheater has been painted
Dennis Vondran is finishing up the last of six picnic tables for his Eagle Scout project. Completion is expected on or before 7/4/00.
Three males were caught and arrested in the process of vandalizing the pavilion at the Community Park. Dan Dixon asked to be informed of when their court date was so he could attend.
Recreation:
Al Roth reported that camp opened on Monday. 170 children went on the first outing today which was Marsh Creek. All the counselors seem to be enthusiastic about the program. A switch was made for the head counselor position at Coopersmith Park for medical reasons. There is a small waiting list for Community Park. All the parks are planning on putting on a craft show in August.
Friends of the Park: Kelly Cifone reported that the Friends have raised 10k of the 12k needed for the summer concert series. Volunteers were needed for the July 4th bike parade. The Friends are sponsoring bus trips on 12/2 to see A Christmas Carol in the Madison Square Garden Theatre and 12/4 to the Radio City Music Hall. So far six crafters have registered for Community Day. The Friends are renting three additional inflatables for Community Day.
